Verification Disclaimer

What “Verified” means

When you see a Verified badge on a profile, a moderator confirmed:

• The business is a real, operating entity in General Luna.
• The official contact links shown (Messenger, WhatsApp, phone) are controlled by that operator at the time of verification.
• The payment account details shown were name-checked against the operator.
• A verification record exists in our audit trail (in-person check, document check, or phone callback).

Verification is based on the evidence available at the time of the check. It is a point-in-time assessment, not a permanent endorsement.

What “Verified” does NOT mean

Verification does not guarantee:

• Availability on any specific date.
• Pricing accuracy at the moment you book.
• Service quality, food quality, or overall experience.
• A refund if something goes wrong.
• That the business will keep operating in the future.
• The conduct of any specific staff member or partner.

Verified means we did the trust check. It does not turn into a warranty.

How to stay safe

• Only message and pay using contact links and payment accounts shown on a verified profile here.
• Do not pay random Facebook pages, personal accounts, or Messenger links forwarded from third parties — even if they claim to represent the same business.
• Confirm booking details (dates, price, what's included, cancellation) directly with the business before sending any deposit.
• If anything looks off, report it.

We are an independent directory

Siargao Verified is not:

• A government agency.
• The Department of Tourism (DOT).
• A local government unit (LGU).
• An accreditation body.

We are an independent local project focused on protecting tourists in General Luna. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking on behalf of any government body.

About DOT references

Some businesses listed here may also hold DOT accreditation. When a profile mentions DOT accreditation, that is a supporting trust signal — it means the business is on a public government list. It is not the same thing as our verification.

DOT accreditation alone is not enough on this site. A profile is only Verified after our own in-person check on top of any third-party signal.

If verification was wrong

If you find an error on a verified profile or believe a verification was made in error, email hello@siargaoverified.com or use the /report form. We can revoke verified status at any time.
